The problem

The information is public. All of it. That has never been the difficulty — finding your part of it has.

An Australian soldier sitting alone in dry bushland, reading a document.
The part nobody trains you for.

There are 376 conditions with a Statement of Principles behind them, and every one comes as a pair — one instrument for warlike and non-warlike service, another for peacetime. Between them sit more than ten thousand factors, each worded precisely, each needing particular evidence.

Serve yourself the wrong half of that pair and everything downstream is wrong: different factors, different thresholds, different evidence. It is the single most consequential thing to get right, and it turns on something as ordinary as which years you served.

None of it is secret. It is simply enormous, and written for delegates rather than for the person making the claim.

What it does

Four things, all of them starting from a diagnosis you already have.

01

Lodge a new claim

The governing instrument, the standard of proof for your service, the factors that could apply to your circumstances, and what evidence goes against each one. Every factor quoted exactly as the instrument words it, with its clause number.

02

A claim already lodged

The same material framed around a claim in progress — where it sits in the process and what review rights exist at that point.

03

Possible impairment points

The GARP M tables that could bear on your conditions, and what each rating requires. Possible points only. What you are actually given follows from clinical measurement, which no website has access to.

04

Other claims that may follow

The instruments name other claimable conditions inside their own factors. Every suggestion carries the clause that produced it — never a hunch, never a list of things to try.

Why it exists

I built this because I needed it and it did not exist.

I served in the Australian Army, Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps, and I deployed overseas. When it came time to make my own claim I found what most of us find:

How do I claim my injuries?

Nobody makes it clear that even if you have the injury, it MUST be related to your service, and that there are hundreds of rules over thousands of documents to look over. There was simply too much to look at and understand and so I did what we all do.

I paid for it. THOUSANDS of dollars from my own compensation went to an advocate, for a reading of documents that are published free on a Commonwealth website. I do not begrudge anyone being paid for their work. I begrudge that paying was the only way to find out what my own law said.

THIS tool fills that gap, The Statements of Principles are public. GARP M is public. What did not exist was anything that puts your conditions beside the right instrument, in the standard of proof your service actually attracts, and shows you the clause it came from. I could not find it, so I built it.

This tool gives you the documents to be your own advocate, will allow you to lodge your own claims with confidence. Something I dearly wish was available to me when I started my claims.

I wish you all the best with your claims and I hope this tool provides you with the clarity you need for success.

Be clear about this

What it is, and what it will never be.

It is

  • A reference over published Commonwealth law
  • Factor text reproduced word for word, unaltered
  • Every statement tied to an instrument and a clause
  • Explicit about which standard of proof applies to you
  • Open about the gaps in its own source material

It is not

  • Medical advice, or a diagnosis of any kind
  • Legal advice, or an advocate acting for you
  • A decision on your claim — that rests with a delegate
  • A prediction of points, money or outcome
  • Able to tell you a factor is met. It never will be.

The strongest phrasing you will ever see here is that a factor is possibly engaged, with the factor quoted in full and the evidence it would need beside it. Whether a factor is met is a delegate's decision under the MRCA, and nothing on this site will pretend otherwise.

Claim what you are owed, properly.

Nothing here is a shortcut, and nothing here decides anything. It gives you the law that applies to you, in the words it was written in, so you can put your claim in knowing what it actually rests on.
